Athletic Advising Office gets face lift

Renovations in the Athletic Advising Office were completed last week. The office, located on the second floor of the RUC, has changed its look.

“The renovations made, were part of an overall campus effort , which started last summer” said Lance Jasitt , Athletics and Student Welfare assistant director.

The renovations new carpeting as well as repainting of the walls.

“Overall, our staff regards the changes made as positive” Jasitt said.

“We also appreciate the addition of four new computers,” Jasitt said, “which are only to be accessed by our student-athletes in order to help them with their academic endeavors.”

Jasitt said that he likes the newly added framed pictures. The pictures that are now hanging up all across the office feature pictures of the University through different seasons with quotes by well known people written underneath them.

“I hope that the images combined with the quotes can inspire our student-athletes that come here to learn.” Jasitt said.

The quotes are from a range of people, including American author Ralph Waldo Emerson, legendary former UCLA coach John Wooden, and Gandhi. All quotes are inspirational messages that students and administrators alike can appreciate.

“I personally like the changes a lot” said Cara Shivers, junior student-worker at the office.

Shivers added that she thinks the renovations help the office look professional.

Last year, Tech student-athletes scored the second highest combined semester GPA in school history.
