Minority Affairs finalizes second Spring Fling

Plans for Spring Fling have been finalized, and the event is ready to take place rain or shine, according to Minority Affairs Graduate Assistant Shonta Howell.Howell said that this event will be a fun way for students to relax and take a break from studying.

“Spring Fling is an event to let students know that we are thinking about them, and it’s a way for them to have fun and kind of relax,” Howell said. “It’s like an end of the semester ‘hey we’re finished’ type deal.”

The event is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 28 at the Fitness Center.

The main event will take place in the pool area. Students must bring their Tech ID to swim.

Food will be provided in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Fit.

Chicken wings, pulled pork and chips are a few items that are on the menu, but other snacks will be available.

Howell stated that she strongly encourages students to come and take advantage of the opportunity to socialize with friends and enjoy free food.

“You know you want to take a break from studying, so why not do it by coming out and getting some free food and spending time with your friends swimming and hanging out?” Howell said.

This is the second year Minority Affairs has hosted Spring Fling.

Howell said that it’s well on its way to becoming an annual event.
