Tech cuts 11 positions

An announcement updating Tech employees about the university budget was sent out earlier this week.

Dewayne Wright, university spokesperson, said in an email that seven filled positions and four vacant positions are being eliminated. The university is saving $618,743 from these cuts.

“Budget decisions that affect employees are always difficult, particularly when any change takes place not due to personal performance, but because of the changing higher education environment,” President Phil Oldham said.
