Tech’s equestrian team is gearing up for another show season. On Sept. 28 the western riders will depart for the year’s first show, which is held by the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Meanwhile, the English riders are preparing for their first show at Sewanee: The University of the South on Oct. 5. Both English and western have classes from beginner all the way to advanced.

Team President Savannah Bayens said, “I am very excited for this upcoming show season! We have a lot of returning and new members ready to get in the show ring and represent TTU. We also have a lot of new partnerships and fundraisers this year to help better our team. It’s going to be a great season!”

The team competes through the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association, which has teams across the United States and parts of Canada. They are coached by Tech alumna Rebecca Huddleston.
