On Friday, October 29, fifth-seeded Tech beat eight-seeded Eastern Illinois 1-0 to advance in the OVC postseason tournament. The win was the first postseason win for the Golden Eagles since a victory in the 2016 OVC tournament.

The Golden Eagles soccer team finished the regular season Sunday, Oct. 24 with a double overtime tie at Southeast Missouri. That tie was the third tie in a row for Tech, who tied Murray State 2-2, and Austin Peay 1-1 in the previous weeks. Overall, Tech soccer finished the regular season with four wins, five losses, and four ties, and finished Ohio Valley Conference play with a final record of three wins, two losses, and three ties.

During September, matches at Western Kentucky, at Xavier, and at home versus Samford were cancelled due to COVID-19 protocol. In October, the Golden Eagles went on a three-game winning streak with wins at UT Martin, and at home against Eastern Illinois and Belmont. During August, Tech lost a close match 1-0 to #18 Vanderbilt, and a 6-0 home loss to #17 Tennessee. Tech finished the season with a final home record of 3-3-1 and a road record of 1-2-3.

Tech plays at UT Martin on Friday, Nov. 5. If they win, they will advance to the championship round of the OVC Tournament.
