The Tech Activity Board measured the success of their first spring project by the number of box dinners students donated to beat the long lines.

Emily Bass, who works in the TAB office, said students gave enough boxes of Hamburger Helper to fill 20 cases at the annual “Build-a-Bear” event on Feb. 12 benefitting the TTU food pantry.

Students filled the RUC multipurpose room for the event.

“Exceeding last year’s food amount to give to such a good cause was really exciting,” Bass said.

Krystal Nguyen, a senior political science major, said this was her first time attending the event.

“I decided to come because I wanted a good souvenir to have once I graduate, and I thought it was really cool how TAB partners with the food pantry,” Nguyen said.

TAB’s faculty adviser Jerry Keeton said TAB members are always open to new ideas on how they can improve student activities on campus.

“There’s ideas about doing a campus-wide Easter egg hunt and as it gets warmer we plan on doing a lot more giveaways with sunglasses, koozies and stickers to get students more informed about TAB,” Keeton said.

With spring break coming up, TAB plans to give away spring break bundles to students in the RUC lobby during dead hour on Thursday.

“The spring break bundles will include a tote bag, tank top, tumbler and a fan. I love that I have the opportunity to plan fun events for the students on campus,” Bass said.
