A speech by a renowned tribal justice activist and a screening of the movie “RBG” are just two events sponsored by Tech’s Women’s Center during Women’s History Month.
Diana Lalani, the administrative associate at The Women’s Center, has been coordinating Women’s History Month events at Tech for 12 years.
“I feel like it is our responsibility to introduce students to people they don’t always know about,” Lalani said.
Winona LaDuke is scheduled to lecture at 7 p.m. today in Derryberry Hall Auditorium.
LaDuke is a world-renowned activist for tribal justice, renewable energy and sustainable development, according to her website.
A screening of “RBG” is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. March 26 at in Oakley Stem Center Auditorium in Morris Hall.
The movie outlines the life of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and has a runtime of 99 minutes.
“To be fair, there are a lot of RBG groupies in the office. It is an Academy Award nominated film, so that doesn’t hurt,” Lalani said.
