On campus

Ansari SOLO concert rescheduled for April 30

Due to a scheduling conflict, Aziz Ansari will perform on campus Tuesday, April 30, not April 4 as originally scheduled.
Ansari has been invited to perform for a benefit for Hurricane Sandy relief. Preliminary damage estimates from the hurricane that destroyed large parts of New York and New Jersey in late October exceed $70 billion. More than 200 people in the storm’s path were killed. Relief efforts are ongoing to repair the damages.
“Aziz Ansari contacted us and asked to reschedule his performance at TTU,” said Lee Gatts, president of Tech’s Student Government Association. “With so many people still in need of assistance up there, we think it’s only fair to allow him to participate in the fundraiser.”
Ansari will be the first comedian to come to campus as part of the SOLO concert series, hosted by SGA.
Tech students with valid Eagle cards may receive two free tickets to the concert. Ticket distribution will begin at 10 a.m. April 16. For a complete schedule of distribution dates, visit www.tntech.edu/solo.
