Writing competition accepts entries

Writers get your pens ready because the Golden Eagle Prose Writing Competition is currently accepting submissions.
The competition offers two categories: short story and narrative essay.
“I’ve been running it for five or six years,” said contest supervisor Michael O’Rourke.
O’Rourke also changed the competition from strictly fiction.
Both categories offer $100 first-place, and $50 for second-place prizes, which would be credited to the student’s account.
The contest is open to all full or part-time Tech students with one entry per person, for one category only. The maximum length is 25 pages, double-spaced in 12-point font.
O’Rourke also mentioned that the entries are to remain anonymous by attaching a separate 3-by-5 card that includes the author, title of story or essay, social security number, campus address, email address and phone number.
Submissions are to be dropped in Henderson Hall Room 320, Box 5053. Electronic submissions will not be considered. Entries are due no later than March 18, and winners should be announced mid-April.
“I would like to have winners in both categories, but sometimes we don’t.”
