It’s finally here. The greatest postseason championship format in all of sports is happening right now. I’m obviously talking about the great “March Madness” NCAA basketball tournament.
I think it’s only right that since my bracket is already destroyed and I have yet again lost a March Madness bracket competition to my mother, who never watches any sports, I should re-predict the rest of the tournament starting from this week’s Sweet 16 matchups.
Arkansas vs Texas Tech: I’m tempted to pick Coach Cal and the red-hot Razorbacks, but give me Texas Tech.
Alabama vs BYU: I’m taking Mark Sears and the Tide to score 100 and advance to yet another Elite Eight.
Michigan vs Auburn: I’m taking Auburn in this one because they just have it all: offense, defense, talent, depth, experience, coaching. It just makes sense to me.
Purdue vs Houston: Purdue is without Zach Edey this go around, which I think ultimately leads to their downfall on Friday. I’m going with the Cougars.
Tennessee vs Kentucky: Kentucky’s not going to beat Tennessee for the third time this year, right? Right? I’ll cautiously take the Vols here.
Florida vs Maryland: Walter Clayton Jr…need I say more? I’m taking Florida.
Arizona vs Duke: I realize that I’ve not picked a single upset yet in this article; let’s keep the trend going. Give me Cooper Flagg and the Blue Devils.
Ole Miss vs Michigan State: Tom Izzo in March, baby. I have to pick Sparty in this one.
Elite Eight: Auburn vs Michigan State: Johni Broome overpowers the Spartans. Give me Aubie to the Final Four.
Florida vs Texas Tech: Walter Clayton–Gators advance.
Duke vs Alabama: Both teams can light up the scoreboard, but Duke is just too much for anyone to handle right now.
Houston vs Tennessee: I like this Tennessee team this year. I like this Houston team a little bit more, though. Give me the Cougars.
Final Four: Auburn vs Florida: Walter. Clayton. Junior.
Houston vs Duke: Another great matchup between the one seeds; I’ll have to stick with the Blue Devils in a close one here.

National Championship: Florida vs Duke: You’re probably expecting me to pick Walter Clayton and the Gators here, but Duke has the better team–plain and simple. Give me the Blue Devils to cut down the nets.
